Potential TBR

I think this would be such a great introduction to Brandon Sanderson. I tried to read Mistborn a couple of years ago and I was not able to get into it and I think it's because of its slow start. I'm sure I would have loved it if I had continued but I also was not into sci-fi that much at the time. The goal is to slowly seep into the word of Brandon Sanderson.

This looks so fun and I heard that it's a light read. And the fact that it's inspired by the Princess Bride makes it even more intriguing!!! It's so sweet that he wanted to write a story for his wife according to an idea that she had. Apparently, they were watching the Prince Bride and his wife saiid that she wishes the girl did not wait for the guy to rescue her and so this book is about a girl who goes out and helps herself out! I am hoping for some romance and great side characters and maybe even some found family trope!

SKYWARD is another YA fantasy that might be a great next read to continue the dive into the world of Brandon Sanderson. I read the first couple of pages as a preview and so far, I love the way Sanderson narrates and keeps things light. I think I will appreciate his humor. I also heard that he knows how to write fantastical worlds that are complex and alluring. It's about time to read a rich fantasy series so I have high hopes for this! 🤞🏾
One of my goals for this year is to read books by Indie authors and lesser known BIPOC authors. This is a Native American author and the story is based on some of the Native American legends. I'm looking forward to it because I feel like it's going to have a heroic female protagonist. I love powerful women leads and learning about new legends and folklore from around the world. Also, can we talk about how beautiful this cover is???! It's so vibrant and lyrical!
